Barter for Restaurant Meals and Use your Cash to Pay Off your Credit Card

Paying off their credit card is a priority for many individuals across the United States. There are several Americans who successfully barter for restaurant meals and use their cash to pay off their credit cards. If you are struggling with credit card debt, this may be an option that provides you with extra cash that you can use for paying off your debt.

Bartering was once more widely used across the world. As a system, it has its advantages and is disadvantages. People who are financially savvy can use bartering to help them save on their cash. This allows them to use their money for things for which they cannot barter.

Barter Kings, a reality series on A&E, an American cable television station, focuses on bartering. The fans of the show are able to watch as ornamental items like rings are traded up to items such as refrigerators that may be needed more by the person who originally had the jewelry.

The key in bartering is to find out what the other person has and determine whether you have something that they might need. If each of you has what the other wants, you have a trade. Sometimes you have to go through a series of other trades to get to something really big and expensive, but it’s worth it, because you can get what you need without using cash.

When you have credit card debt, cash is usually in short supply. Paying off the debt is a priority for most individuals and families. It hangs around like an unwanted stench, making planning family picnics or even a night at a restaurant on a special occasion seem like an impossibility.

If you have a little extra cash and are wondering whether you should use that money to treat yourself at a local eatery, think of other ways to get what you want first. Is the owner of the eatery in need of any skill or tangible item that you have? Does anyone else who has some pull at the restaurant need anything that you have to offer?

For example, if you are schoolteacher, could you trade a few hours of tutoring for a night out for your family? If you own a garage could you service the restaurant’s delivery truck for free in exchange for dinner?

You can use the cash you would have spent to help pay off your credit card debt. To get more ideas on ways to pay down credit card debt, read the ABCs of Money by Natalie Pace.
